Sun, Jul. 9th, 2006, 03:01 pm Marc Broussard
This is Marc Broussard. I saw him in concert on Friday. It was the most amazing experience ever, and by far the best concert I have ever been to. I am fairly motivated to go on and on and on about the concert, but I won't. Just bask in his hotness and listen to some of his music. You'll be glad you did.
So tonight I attempt frying chicken for the first time in my life. The first batch was HORRIBLE. I misunderstood "season the chicken" for "roll the chicken in the salt and spice" and ended up with a salty disgusting nightmare. Now, by the third batch, the chicken is close to edible. I wouldn't lie to you and say it was great, but it's edible now. On a positive note, I also made mac & cheese and it is good. sigh

kadmariposa tagged me with the following: 5 Tells that give away your romantic/lustful desires. Easy, easy, easy. #1: I say incredibly awkward and inappropriate things. For instance, going to a bookstore and being surprised that the object of my affection is working there. I say something like "What are you doing here?" which gets the response "I work here." #2: I blush. #3: I touch my ears, hair, clothes, etc. all the time, without noticing. #4: I remember the stupidest details, even though my memory is shot to hell and I can barely remember a single thing on my "to - do" list without looking at it. For example, if someone mentioned once in conversation that their brother had the flu, I will find it's relevance weeks later in a conversation. (see point #1) #5: I become their biggest fan, but in the jokiest way possible. :-) I tag: melabelle ahimsa8 eireann_eilis tigerman28

Tough guy You scored 70% masculine, 88% athletic, 27% exotic, and 31% refined! |
| You love men, you love testosterone and you know it. You like a bad-ass man who knows what he wants. He isn't what you might bring home to mom but I don't think it really matters - he's hot! Someone like.....Vin Diesel. But let's face it, the whole point of this was to look at a bunch of hot guys. If you liked what you saw, please rate my test! |
|
My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 80% on masculine |
|
You scored higher than 97% on athletic |
|
You scored higher than 15% on exotic |
|
You scored higher than 9% on refined |
| I'm not really sure of the accuracy here. But I do think Vin Diesel is yummy. :-) Wed, Apr. 5th, 2006, 07:48 pm
Have you ever had a dream where you couldn't figure out if it was real or not? I had one of those last night. I woke up unsure of what was going on. (In my dream a visitor had come over.) I found myself checking all the locks, checking the windows, trying to figure out whether the person had left or not.

| You Are Likely a Third Born | At your darkest moments, you feel vulnerable. At work and school, you do best when you're comparing things. When you love someone, you tend to like to please them.
In friendship, you are loyal to one person. Your ideal careers are: sales, police officer, newspaper reporter, inventor, poet, and animal trainer. You will leave your mark on the world with inventions, poetry, and inspiration. |
Creepy! Although I notice that "manager in a warehouse" was not one of the listed ideal career choices. :-) Mon, Mar. 27th, 2006, 08:19 pm
Edith flew in for the weekend and we had a great time. Here are the highlights: Saturday - did clothes (hooray!), went to Michelle's candle party (Michelle & Sam got engaged this weekend!), went to downtown Naperville where we ate at Potbelly's and watched a young guitarist play for about 3 hours. Sunday - breakfast with Patti, church (fire and brimstone preacher w/ bad toupee --- not exactly the best Sunday service), drive to Navy Pier, froze our butts off, dinner at El Tapatio in Joliet, home for wine coolers and arthouse porn type movies. Teased Matt a little too far and pissed him off royally. Monday - slept in, breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, went to the Art museum and lunch at Bacino's, where instead of making us a broccoli pizza with hot peppers on the side for me, they made us a hot pepper and broccoli pizza. Edith doesn't eat peppers. Chaos ensues. They bring back a thin crust broccoli pizza for Edith, who is heartbroken because it's not "real" Chicago style pizza. We hop the train back to the airport and I see Edith off and drive home. It was a fun weekend, though. And I have done a lot of thinking and soul searching. I would love an extra day of vacation on top of the day I already took. :-) But I better save those up for the Folkerts' nature trip in May!
Take the quiz: Which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle are You?
Donatello You've been described as 'the brains' of your family or group of friends. You're the natural born, 'Mr. Fixit'. You're also considered the most reserved, preoccupied with your own little thoughts and ideas. But that doesn't mean you don't hang with your family and friends! But, you still find it easy to get lost in your own thoughts...daydreaming often. You'd rather talk things out than fight. You long for a day when there's nothing but peace in the world, and when you can finally rest with your own thoughts. Violence is something the world could completely live without. One of your labels may be, 'true to blue friend'. You're strong at heart and powerful at mind.

Songs that makes me shiver (in a good way): Rachael Yamagata - "Be Be Your Love" Marc Broussard - "Home" or "Come Around" (tie) Nickel Creek - "Somebody More Like You" Five for Fighting - "The Devil in the Wishing Well" Songs that makes me shiver (in a bad way): Gretchen Wilson - "Homewrecker" The Pussycat Dolls -"Don't Cha" Any Lenny Kravitz Green Day's latest album Pearl Jam - "Better Man" Gwen Stefani - "Rich Girl" (vomit) Songs that I never get tired of: Fiona Apple - "Never is a Promise" Iron & Wine - "Sea and the Rhythm" Sufjan Stevens - "Chicago" Wilco - "Jesus, Etc." Damien Rice - "Cannonball" I was just going through my music...ahh...now I'm listening to Pearl Jam again and I guess I'm not that annoyed by it.
I have been talking to Rachel about an experience I had today because I find it very odd and important.
I was driving earlier today and a bunny hopped out in front of my car on the road. I gasped!!! and swerved out of the way and did not hit the bunny. How often does this happen? It has never happened to me before. I love bunnies and would never want to hit one. So I'm on my way back home from dinner tonight (same day as the earlier bunny experience) and ANOTHER bunny hops in front of my car ON THE INTERSTATE! I swerve, miss the bunny, and continue driving. My question is: how often does a person encounter a bunny hopping in front of their car TWICE on the same day? I am almost certain this has biblical meaning, or at least significant meaning of some sort, so I have been researching.
Here's what I have come up with: #1 - Bunnies are a symbol of fertility. I must be pregnant. However, to be pregnant one must be sexually active and I am most certainly not. (If anyone could get any less sexually active, I'd like to see them try.)
#2 - Bunnies are a symbol of innocence. Because these bunnies hopped in front of my large, speeding car, and I swerved to avoid them, I think that someone innocent has placed themselves in my way, potentially getting hurt. I'm thinking this might pertain to a certain person I know, but they aren't exactly innocent or apt to get easily hurt, so I'm thinking this might be wrong, too.
#3 - Bunnies & innocence, part 2. Someone innocent is in my path, and my intention (while driving) was to save the bunny. So there is someone in my life who needs saving and who I am capable of saving. I can most definitely think of who this might pertain to.
Maybe I'm reading into the whole bunny thing, but it is odd, isn't it?

| Your Candy Heart Says "Get Real" | You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love. You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.
Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)
Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic
What turns you off: romantic expectations and "greeting card" holidays
Why you're hot: you don't just play hard to get - you are hard to get |
